The referee and Vincent Kompany.
The ref was shit scared of him it seemed. How many times did kompany foul Valencia, even after he'd (finally) been booked. Was never gonna be shown a second yellow in a thousand years.

I think referee is not very clever.

He see that Vincent is a bag handsome man and tries to be nice to him.

Valencia is too quick and Vincent has to bundle him. Vincent in strugglers club to handle Valencia.

Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
So we win a game and your not allowed to talk about the ref. He was terrible and of course Kompany should of gone. The first one looked like a clear booking from where I was. He had already pulled our player back then he slid in taking the man. Should of also had a pen with Sakho near the end! We might of got of with one or two but over all he favoured them. It was also frustrating seeing their players running over to the ref trying to get us booked. Also as previous said they were going down to easily.

Valencia gave one of the best defenders in the world a complete runaround. He had to resort to thuggery to keep him under control. That shows how good a player we have in Valencia

As Valencia adjusts more & more to what goes on in the EPL he will just get better & better!

I'm not convinced that Atkinson is as influenced as most other referees by the big clubs

When we played Manu at OT (can't remember if it was last season or a previous season) he wasn't going to be influenced by Hernandes nonsense
The player was diving around all over the place & Atkinson rightly booked him. Most referees wouldn't have had the bottle

Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
It also happened in the first part of the game, where Atkinson seemed determined to only give decisions in Manchester City's favour.

What a tosspiece that clown is.

Possibly because Noble came out and played it down, and almost tried to take the blame for it by going in so committedly. Her says he always puts him self in that position and that he doesn't think Aguero meant it.

Aguero and Atkinson both owe Noble a beer or two for opening an escape hatch for the pair of them.

Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
nice to see that aguerro doesn't face any punishment for the foul on noble as Atkinson has come out and said he saw it .... in that case why isn't someone asking why he didn't send him off then

Definitely North, he struggled to cope with Valencia.

Regarding kompany
IMO he's the best defender in the world by quite some stretch but let me tell you he got run ragged sat

Any one notice old JT chatting with Dowd walking off at half time. The refs best mate is old JT.Slippery fucker.

Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
Phil Dowd was worse than usual yesterday. He's so fat now that he doesn't even go over to incidents to give a card, he does it from 30 yards away to save his breath.

Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
I don't disagree with that, grumps, but let's say di maria was through on goal and he was brought down like this unintentionally. It would be a straight red regardless of it being unintentional as it's denying a goal-scoring opportunity.

Sven Roeder 12:21 Mon Oct 27
Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
Too many fouls which are attempted tackles in the spirit of trying to play the ball or accidental collisions or clipping of players (like Ivanovic's) are given yellows. I thought Ivanovic's was accidental as why the hell would he do that deliberately allowing a freekick close to goal in the last minute.

Yellows should be for pulling players back , putting them in headlocks at corners or deliberate fouls not attempting to win the ball.
If its violent or dangerous then its a red.

Grumpster 12:19 Mon Oct 27
Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
Can sort of see that, but I saw it more as a clash of feet where we ran across him and not him actually stretching his leg out to catch the back of his foot intentionally.

Brussels Sprout 12:15 Mon Oct 27
Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
Grumpster - I think the yellow wasn't so much for the nature of the foul, but for the position that Di Maria was in. Not goalscoring, but in a dangerous position. I guess it qualifies as a professional foul.

Grumpster 12:13 Mon Oct 27
Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
And I know the experts felt differently about the Ivanovich red, but I've seen it 50 times and still think it's accidental. Free kick yes, but not a second yellow.

Maybe I'm just used to fouls being proper fouls, but I just know that in that situation we may not have even got a free kick.

The more I see of the Noble/Aguero tackle and how close the ref is looking at it, the more ridiculous it is. I mean it's just blatant cheating to the bigger team as he's staring at it from 5 metres away and it's obvious even in quick time.

Thankfully no harm done to Noble and 3 points in the bag, but would have been different if they'd scored from that attack.

That fat cunt Dowd werent it?

Two Manc Defenders pulled down two players at the same time and Dowd was in clear view and did nothing.

Souness (I think it was him) said "He (Dowd) saw it and CHOSE not to do anything", his comments we quickly talked over.

Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
Can you imagine the reaction if Courtois or De Gea had got the punch in the head that Speroni got for West Brom's first goal v Palace?
Also that non penalty decision against Zaha

Bloody hell, I am feeling sorry for Warnock.
He had been spouting bollocks the week before v Chelsea though

Grumpster 11:43 Mon Oct 27
Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
He wasn't the only terrible ref at the weekend and teams such as us just get used to the shit big team decisions and it makes it sweeter when winning.

he bloke at OT yesterday was fucking awful and good to see that Man Utd still get preferential treatment even in their decline.

I thought it was a penalty on Jenkinson in the final seconds.

Didn't matter in the end.

Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
I wouldn't change a thing, other than Sakho getting away with his Hart collison a bit better.

Other than conceding early, Rooney getting sent off was the worst thing that happened to us at OT. I think man u can be relieved the red card gave them the excuse to park the bus for the remainder of the match. 11v11, man u would not have been allowed to do that, not at home agsint us. The fans would have flipped.

The differance yesterday was that we were winning when they should have been reduced to 10/9 men, but as said, our bragging rights are a bit better beating 11 man city.

boleyn8420 11:09 Mon Oct 27
Re: The referee and Vincent Kompany.
Atkinson has always been a big team ref, I was praying none of the city players would go down in the box because that ref would have given a pen without a a moments hesitation. Aguero straight red, a formality, didnt even give a foul. Kompany not only had 3 obvious fouls that could have been yellows he also committed over 7 fouls and should have had a yellow just on toting up but no chance. And whilst we are at it if there hadn't been goal-line technology theres no way the cunt would have given the second goal in a million years.

hHowever, after saying all that I couldn't be more pleased that we beat the cunts 11V11 so no shine was taken off the victory. I cannot remember seeing a West Ham team work as hard as that for 90 minutes, well ever, to be honest and with a great deal of quality as well. I am just enjoying the moment to be honest.
